Shalom Says Hello from Curacao
Among the very oldest of the diaspora S&P communities, established by Jews who fled Spain , is the island of Curacao in the Caribbean. Its beautiful, distinguished building -- known as the "Snoa" -- was built in 1732.
Recently, Rabbi Shalom Morris of their sister synagogue Bevis Marks in London paid a visit, meeting with Cantor Avery Tracht and viewing some of its Torah scrolls, wrapped in the traditional red cloth. You can read more here:
